Adequacy of CSELR questioned No fewer than forty-four submissions to the Environmental Impact Statement of the CBD and South-East Light Rail project raised questions about the passenger-carrying capacity of the proposed system. This is ironic, as one of the main motives for the project is to replace a bus service which is overtaxing the CBD's roads and bus stops. A Submissions Report, prepared by Parsons Brinckerhoff and Transport for New South Wales, issued a few days ago. The report pours cold water on these concerns - see pages 5.64ff. APTNSW is looking into the matter with a view to taking it further if appropriate.
