Sheet timetables at railway stations Since mid-2013, Sydney Trains has progressively removed all the "sheet" timetable displays from its stations. Such information had been a feature of railways throughout the world for decades, if not centuries. Action for Public Transport has asked the N.S.W. Minister for Transport to have the sheet timetables reinstated as a matter of urgency. Sheet timetables are used for a multitude of purposes for which smartphones etc. cannot, e.g. finding when the desired train reaches another station. Sheet timetables also can be used in strong sunlight and do not require batteries.
