Yet Another Opportunity Missed to Bring Trains Up To Speed
The new CityRail timetable, introduced to mark the completion of double track from Cronulla to Sutherland, could have been an opportunity to bring trains up towards pre-2005 speeds.

However, the opportunity has been missed. The new timetable introduced 10-11 October 2010 allows trains 17 minutes for Cronulla to Sutherland; the March 1989 timetable gave only 15 minutes!

With a state election due in less than six months' time, passengers should put pressure on the state government to bring trains up to speed.
