Review of fare concessions policy
Newspaper advertisements on 25 September 2004 announced:

<center>Transport Concessions Review</center>

At the request of the Minister for Transport Services, the Ministry of
Transport is undertaking a review of transport concession policy.

The review will consider:
<ul>
<li>the extent to which current transport concession arrangements meet stated
policy objectives for each of the target groups;

<li>the extent to which transport concession targeting arrangements, both
within and across individual transport concession categories, deliver
consistent and equitable entitlements;

<li>the consistency of transport concession arrangements with broader State
and Commonwealth social policy objectives; and

<li>opportunities, within a cost neutral framework, to improve transport
arrangements for identified needs groups in both the short and longer terms.
</ul>
In addition to meeting with key stakeholder groups, the Ministry is calling
for submissions from the public in relation to the review.
