Transitway Bus Priority Unsatisfactory Passenger comfort is not up to expectations on Sydney's new Liverpool to Parramatta bus-only "Transitway", owing to a lack of bus priority at traffic signals. A survey by Action for Public Transport during the first week of operation found that even on those sections of the T-way reserved exclusively for buses, the buses had to slow to a near stop and accelerate again at two thirds of the signals. APTNSW has written to the Roads & Traffic Authority, claiming that the stop-start operation of buses is uncomfortable, and in some circumstances, dangerous, and not up to the public's expectations of current computer-controlled signal technology. APT was also critical of the lack of route maps inside the buses, the failure of the on-board public address announcements, poor station identification, and the low number of seats provided at some stops.
