New Consumer Handbook Amongst its many roles, Action for Public Transport is recognised as a consumer organisation. "The Australian Consumer Handbook 2003", just issued by the Department of Treasury in Canberra, lists APT as a consumer advocacy group looking at solutions to public transport issues affecting New South Wales consumers. The Handbook is a storehouse of general consumer information with details of over 1,000 organisations around Australia, fully indexed, sample letters and guidance on what to do when you have a problem. You can get copies of the book for $15 from Government Info Bookshops or, better still, ask your local library to buy one.
