Advocacy funds dry up Public transport advocacy has suffered a significant loss with the closure of the nation-wide "Smogbusters" program. After six years, the contract between the Nature Conservation Council, which ran the program in NSW, and the Natural Heritage Trust, which provided the funding, has ended. Smogbusters ran seminars and produced newsletters, but may be best remembered for its role in organising the annual Public Transport Days in the capital cities. The NHT is understood to be refocussing its priorities on natural resource management issues.
