Action for Public Transport (N.S.W.)
Current and forthcoming issues in Sydney transport
- Slowing, stopping, and reversing, the long-standing bias in favour of road expansion over other ways of bringing people closer to their destinations.
- Whether the revolving-door appointments of a string of NSW
Treasurers will ever lead to a new era of finance in which Treasury
boffins who can't see any value in deficit budgeting will be over-ruled,
permitting essential development of transport services to proceed.
- Why Sydney's population has to keep increasing at about one
thousand per week when there are serious limitations on essential
infrastructure including water supply and public transport.
Perhaps the federal government is using immigrants to help mask the
effects that the large number of mature people who will soon retire
will have on the economy.
