Federal government's role in the development of cities

The House of Representatives' Standing Committee on Transport and Infrastructure called for submissions on the government's role in the development of cities.

Action for Public Transport made a submission calling for a quantum leap in the availability and frequency of public transport services as the key to accommodating increased population without damaging the quality of life of Australians, and degrading our environment. Our key concern is the systematic bias against public transport investment in current evaluation and assessment techniques.
