Ministerial credibility at stake

posted Friday 9 August 2013
The federal Liberal opposition has a well-known policy that in government it will not fund public transport, even in urban areas like Sydney.

According to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald (No money, no worries, says Berejiklian) of 6 August, the NSW minister for transport said:

The certainty provided by the federal Coalition in relation to transport funding is a welcome relief, especially given the Minister for Roads and I have to manage the transport cluster budget.

This seems to imply that the NSW government would prefer not to receive any public transport money that a federal Labor government might grant - an odd remark from a minister who was appointed to serve the people of NSW.
