Tour of western Sydney growth centres - 12 February 2010

On Friday 12th February 2010, the Western Sydney Community Forum (WSCF) provided interested parties with a guided tour of the "growth centres" of western Sydney to highlight the transport needs of the region.

About 36 people joined the tour, including representatives of government departments and agencies, local councils, welfare and social service organisations and commuter groups, including Action for Public Transport.

In south-western Sydney, the itinerary covered work in progress at Glenfield station and the growth areas around Edmonson Park, Narellan and Oran Park Town. In the north-west the tour visited Rouse Hill Town Centre, Vineyard, Riverstone and Schofields railway stations, and The Parkway at Beaumont Hills. Representatives of Planning NSW assisted with commentary.

The tour was very successful, and the hosts earned the thanks and praise of their guests.
