Walk to Work Day - Friday 3 October

Sunday 28 September 2008

An annual event to encourage walking for its health benefits. The promoters suggest that you don't have to walk all the way to work, just part of the way - maybe get off the train one station earlier and walk the rest of the way.

A fit person can walk at about 6 km per hour, or one kilometre in ten minutes. On a bicycle, you can travel at double that rate.
