Proposed Railway Station for University of Western Sydney - Review

posted Wednesday 15 August 2007
Dr Andrew Refshauge, former Member for Marrickville, Health Minister, and Deputy Premier, has been appointed to undertake a review of the proposed railway station at the University of Western Sydney campus, between Werrington and Kingswood Stations on Sydney’s Western Line.

According to the Ministry of Transport, the review will "clarify conflicting advice on the proposed station and ensure that efficient and effective public transport access is provided to the local community".

Dr Refshauge will evaluate information, oversee a public consultation process and provide a recommendation to the Government. He will hold discussions with key stakeholders including Penrith City Council, University of Western Sydney, TAFE, Landcom, Railcorp, Department of Planning and the Ministry of Transport. This will be followed by a public consultation process, to be advertised in daily and local newspapers. This consultation will be used to determine medium to long term land use, and will consider data on existing travel behaviour patterns, passenger demand, and pedestrian and cyclist behaviour.

Submissions should be sent to:
