Simultaneous events at Sydney Cricket Ground and Telstra Stadium on 7 July were expected to test State Transit’s ability to handle large crowds. To handle the peak crowds after the events, STA planned the use of 80 buses on Route 1 alone, to Central Station. Other regular bus services in the area were also to be augmented, including six additional buses on the new “cashless” Route 333 to the city.
