Sydney trains slower, Japan's faster

posted Saturday 20 August 2005
While Sydney's trains are to be run slower from 4 September, under the guise of improved safety, Japan's trains are getting faster: well, slightly.

JR East has already started trialling a new Shinkansen "Bullet" train. Designed for 405km/h, it is expected to reach 360km/h on test and to enter revenue service in 2011.
