Review of fare concessions policy

Transport Concessions Review
At the request of the Minister for Transport Services, the Ministry of
Transport is undertaking a review of transport concession policy.
The review will consider:
- the extent to which current transport concession arrangements meet stated
policy objectives for each of the target groups;
- the extent to which transport concession targeting arrangements, both
within and across individual transport concession categories, deliver
consistent and equitable entitlements;
- the consistency of transport concession arrangements with broader State
and Commonwealth social policy objectives; and
- opportunities, within a cost neutral framework, to improve transport
arrangements for identified needs groups in both the short and longer terms.
In addition to meeting with key stakeholder groups, the Ministry is calling
for submissions from the public in relation to the review.
